Tourism BungalowsYosi Ocha is the ideal refuge for those seeking to explore more in-depth some of the great secrets of the Amazon rainforest.

We have private and shared bungalows, ecologically built with materials from the area and following the traditional architecture of the Peruvian Amazon. All bungalows have private bathrooms and showers. Most of them are located between the dinning room and the ceremonial maloca. But for those who wish to have more privacy and feel completely immersed in the rainforest, there are also bungalows in a denser area of the jungle, at the back of the property.

A varied ecosystem flourishes in this magnificent part of the jungle, including ancestral ‘palos maestros’, or teacher trees, vines of breath-taking size and shape, wildlife such as monkeys and toucans, and the distinctive white sands which characterise this very special region, once a vast inland sea. The property surrounding Yosi Ocha – over 12 acres – is traversed by streams of reddish water which further contribute to the unparalleled beauty of the countryside.

A gentle 30 minute stroll along jungle tracks (with one of our experienced guides), brings you to the River Nanay which rises in the wild mountains of Ecuador and joins the Amazon at Iquitos. Unlike the Amazon, however, it is entirely safe to swim in.

Tourism IquitosWe will be happy to organize tourist programs that include boat trips down the Amazon river and/or excursions to local wildlife reserves, such as the Monkey Island, the Amazon Animal Orphanage and Pilpintuwasi butterfly farm or the Serpentarium. We can also arrange visits of different traditional tribes of the region, excursions to the ponds and lagoons of the Amazon in search of the Victoria Regia (the largest aquatic flower – water Lilly – in the world; The leaves float on water and they can reach more than 2 meters in diameter), the gigantic Lupuna treespink dolphins and tours to the Alpahuayo Mishana reserve.

All programs include different daily activities and offer the possibility to explore first hand the wonders of the Amazon rainforest.

Should you be interested, you will also have the opportunity to experience traditional Shipibo Ayahuasca ceremonies and ancient rituals, as well as indulge in aura-cleansing flower/plant baths, mud baths, sauna and massages.  These traditional treatments in combination with a wonderful natural setting provide the perfect mix that you need to restore the natural balance of your body and mind, before venturing into more adventurous jungle exploration.
