Due to our long tradition and experience, Yosi Ocha can also be the ideal refuge for those seeking to delve into the magic of the Amazon rainforest and explore its great secrets guided by its local inhabitants. At the same time, it provides the unique opportunity to enjoy delicious regional food and peaceful rest in an authentic Shipibo family environment.
We have 12 bungalows for our guests, all built ecologically with materials from the area and following the traditional architecture of locals. Large windows are covered with mosquito nets to ensure the peaceful rest of our clients. Each bungalow has its private bathroom and shower and can be prepared for one person, or accommodate a couple, or two friends.

Our property extends over more than 50 hectares and houses a fascinating ecosystem that includes ancient teacher trees, or ‘palos maestro‘ as well as rich and varied wildlife (monkeys, iguanas, toucans, etc.). Our retreat is crossed by streams of reddish water that contribute even more to the incomparable beauty of the place. From Yosi Ocha and after a 30-minute walk along the jungle roads you reach the Nanay River, which rises in the mountains of Ecuador and joins the Amazon in Iquitos. Unlike the Amazon River, it is completely safe to swim in the Nanay.

We will be happy to organize tourist programs that include boat trips down the Amazon river and/or excursions to local wildlife reserves, such as Monkey Island, the Amazon Animal Orphanage, Pilpintuwasi butterfly farm, or the Serpentarium.
We can also arrange visits of different traditional tribes of the region, and excursions to the ponds and lagoons of the Amazon in search of the Victoria Regia (the largest aquatic flower – water Lilly – in the world; The leaves float on water and they can reach more than 2 meters in diameter), the gigantic Lupuna trees, pink dolphins and tours to the Alpahuayo Mishana reserve. All programs include different daily activities and offer the possibility to explore firsthand the wonders of the Amazon rainforest.
Should you be interested, you will also have the opportunity to experience traditional Shipibo Ayahuasca ceremonies and ancient rituals, as well as indulge in aura-cleansing flower/plant baths, mud baths, and massages. These traditional treatments in combination with a wonderful natural setting provide the perfect mix that you need to restore the natural balance of your body and mind, before venturing into more adventurous jungle exploration.
